A potential safety issue has been identified in relation to production of the below products, for batch codes dated ‘DOM 09/2022’ onwards. Batches before this date are not affected. It has been identified that the anti-static properties of the boot do not meet the product safety requirements. Therefore, there is a risk of build-up of static electricity, which if used in an anti-static or static-sensitive environment may result in a static discharge.
Please note that no incidents have been reported to date, however we ask that customers return the affected product to store for a full refund. The batch number can be found on the shoebox or on the tongue of the boot as detailed in the images below:

Flogas has issued an immediate product recall for a small number of ‘Flogas Butane Cylinders’ purchased between 6 November and 22 November 2024 due to a safety issue which could lead to a risk of fire when connected with certain regulators and older appliances.
The recall affects all ‘Flogas Butane Cylinders’ purchased across East Anglia, East Midlands, the Home Counties and the Southeast during that time.
Products affected are 4.5kg, 7kg, and 13kg Butane Gas Cylinders.
Affected products sold by B&Q are the 7kg (5059051000007) and 13kg (5053721515709) Butane Gas Cylinders.
Customers must cease use of the product immediately and do not connect it to any appliance.
The cylinder should be kept outdoors until it is collected. If it must be kept indoors, customers should ensure it is stored away from sources of heat and contact Flogas for further advice.

IMPORTANT PRODUCT SAFETY NOTICE: SAMSUNG Gas hobs (on sale between December 2022 and September 2023)
There is a safety issue with an elbow connector that connects to the external gas supply on some gas hobs manufactured by a company called Midea. This connector can potentially fail.
Some Samsung gas hobs were manufactured by Midea and supplied with the elbow connector in question. Samsung has had no reported safety incidents in the UK caused by a defective gas elbow connector.
However, as a precautionary measure, from 27 September 2023, Midea will commence an inspection and/or modification programme for Samsung gas hobs manufactured between October 2019 and January 2023.

From there, you will be able to arrange for a Gas Safe Registered engineer to come to your home to check if the gas elbow connector on your gas hob is one of those affected by this issue. If so, it will be replaced.
If your gas hob is installed in a caravan, leisure home or motorhome, you should safely disconnect it from the LPG cylinder and get in touch immediately.

A piece of the connecting pipework in some affected gas hobs could fail, resulting in a significant gas leak, regardless of whether the hob is switched on and in use. Hazards resulting from such a gas leak could include burns, fire and explosion and poisoning from inhalation.

Despite rigorous quality control procedures it has been brought to B&Q’s attention the lamp shade rings on some models of the below ranges of lights may fracture, permitting the shade to fall from the fitting and present a risk of injury.
If you have purchased one of these products which uses the cast shade ring pictured below, please remove the shade and ring immediately on any affected light fittings using the original tool supplied, ensuring lights are cool first. If you require a replacement fitting tool to do so, please contact our helpline number below. Please avoid the potential fall zone until you are able to remove the lampshades.
Shades with this cast metal ring must be removed.
If your light has this steel ring it is safe to use.
Please find instructions below. Once the shade rings and shades have been removed ceiling light fittings are safe to continue using as normal. Other wall or table lights must not be used with shades removed, due to accessibility of hot bulbs. These instructions support the safety notice for selected light fittings from B&Q.
1. Please locate the black plastic shade ring fitting tool (shown). This is required for bulb changes and should be retained after fitting of the light. If this cannot be found please contact the helpline below. SWITCH OFF POWER.
2. Once cooled, push onto shade ring.
3. Unscrew the shade ring taking care to support the shade. Remove both shade and ring. Retain shade for later reinstallation.

What is the problem?
In the event of a food fire whilst grilling, there is a small risk that it could transfer to components above the grill section. The risk is extremely small, and it can be eliminated by ensuring any cooking is conducted with the oven door closed. We also recommend that you do not leave the appliance unattended when grilling. -
How dangerous is it?
In the unlikely event of a fire occurring, it is normally contained within the appliance. However, it may in worst case, cause damage external to the appliance itself. -
How many incidents have been logged with this fault?
Only 0.06% of 67000 appliances sold. Only 0.04% of these have been fires outside of the appliance. -
Can the customer still use their grill?

Despite rigorous quality control procedures it has been brought to B&Q's attention that a potential hazard exists from the spinning blades.

THIS SAFETY NOTICE ONLY AFFECTS THE SPECIFIC CONDENSER DRYER MODELS LISTED AND DOES NOT AFFECT THE REST OF THE WHITE KNIGHT TUMBLE DRYER RANGE.
The problem.
It has come to our attention that a purchased connector component has been supplied to us which is not to our specification and that this component has been fitted to a number of White Knight Condenser dryers built in 2010. We believe that the use of this connector can potentially lead to overheating of the appliance and if left unresolved could create a potential fire hazard over time. We wish to identify the location of all potentially affected dryers and replace them free of charge in order to eliminate the risk.
How to check if your dryer is affected.
We are trying to identify the location of these machines in order to remove the potential risk associated with this connector. First, please check if you have one of the models listed above, and if so, please check whether your appliance has a serial number from the following list of potentially affected batches (the model and serial number can where the door meets the machine).

What to do if your dryer is affected.

B&Q has identified a potential safety issue with the Aluminium 3 Section Loft Ladder (barcode 1044294) and Aluminium 2 Section Loft Ladder (barcode 1044287) offered for sale from August 2011 onwards.
PLEASE NOTE ONLY THE PRODUCTS PICTURED ARE AT RISK. ALL OTHER LOFT LADDERS SOLD BY B&Q ARE UNAFFECTED.
Despite rigorous quality control procedures, it has been brought to our attention that there has been a component failure during use in a small number of these aluminium loft ladders which makes them unsafe for use.
